Topic: Data Assimilation Infrastructure - Software, Frameworks, HPC

Thursday, 3 December 2026 from 15-17h UTC

Organizers and Conveners: Javier Amezcua (University of Canterbury, NZ), Gimena Casaretto (Scripps Institution of Oceanography)

Implementing data assimilation methods in realistic models involves particular challenges due to the scale, complexity and computational demands. This session is focused on how such challenges are handled in practice. We particularly invite contributions on operational systems, but likewise on open-source software that help the community apply data assimilation in complex models.
